I mean, "Love" is right in the name...
One of the first sights many see in Brugge and one to be remembered, this rich historic area offers a fairytale-like background from every corner Andy can suggest.
Be warned: this location is popular during the day (especially Andy's fave spot: Sashuis), avoid crowds by planning for early or late hours. Otherwise, always a quiet corner in Minnewater park.
Stunning. Close to train & bus stations. Well worthy to kick off or finish your Brugge love getaway.
Ohh the energy here...
The smallest bridge in Brugge (but one of the youngest as it was only built in 1910), this sublime little spot has been unofficially dubbed our "Bridge of Love" for good reason: A lot to love here!
A truly special place that deserves special consideration. Early start or sunset to have to yourselves, otherwise pick a corner and go for it as the nearby crowd roars their approval.
Magic, could be #1 top location when getting up early to beat considerable day crowds.
Postcard. Perfect.
One of the most well-known sights of Brugge, the Rozenhoedkaai is perhaps the ideal view of overall finesse and grace this city has kept preserved throughout centuries.
Delightful but take note: Be early or into the evening to avoid the considerable day crowds, otherwise maybe embrace the public setting to declare your love for all to witness!
Nothing says "Beautiful Brugge" louder than this postcard-perfect spot on the corner of the canal.
The REAL heart of Brugge...
Where the city started all those centuries ago, the Burg is a breathtaking bounty of historic architecture, doors & details that make this square well worth a look.
Quiet most mornings and bustling with a mix of locals & visitors through the day, also a favoured sight for night time proposals. Lovely, with or without the Xmas tree over the holiday season.
Elegant & graceful square, early morning or late evening being especially enchanting.
There's a reason they keep getting mentioned...
The adorable side streets of Brugge are simply everywhere around town, multiple secluded spots to enjoy in peace and tranquility all within minutes of even the busiest area.
A few of Andy's favourites centrally include Groeninge and Waalsestraat, less central (but not far to walk) would include Peerdenstraat, Blekerstraat & Balstraat among others.
Easy to find when you know where to look, from busiest side of town to otherwise.
Less crowds while still just as epic...
The old port of Brugge is surrounded by the results of being a premier medieval hub, epic architecture and without the noise from the busier side of Brugge.
With Koningsbrug (King's Bridge) a clear fave for the wealth of visual beauty as well as space to declare your intent to that special someone, this is one Andy recommends heartily!
An epic place that never really sees epic crowds. Especially charming with stone seating.
So close and yet so quiet...
The Groenrei is a canal area close to the action of Burg, Markt and other central sights, all while folding into the more quiet and modest Brugge that dominates much of our fine little city.
With the view from Meerbrug being especially enchanting for a Brugge proposal location, you can count on directly feeling the more mellow side of the city without worry of large groups or otherwise.
Central but off the beaten track, lovely view of the towers of city hall and otherwise.
A place where anything can happen...
The locations listed above are just some of the possibilities Brugge offers for those looking at something different, and if nothing else: You think Andy would give away -all- his best ideas? ;)
Surround by grass & windmills, in the middle of an activity, at a classy restaurant (of which Brugge is overflowing), even on a private boat ride... All is possible!
Brugge offers more than meets the eye, special things happen in this special place.
